2026 Awards Social

This year the Awards Social was held in the Fresno High School Library/Media Center on May 5. It was a Cinco de Mayo celebration with appetizer platters from Quesadilla Gorilla and Bobby Salazars and ice cream donated by Ampersand.
Fresno High senior scholarship winners, some of their family members, their teachers and sponsors gathered at 6 pm for food and conversation. Brian Guerrero, the committee chair, began by introducing the committee members who put the party together: Judy Aguilar, Barbara Rios, Cathy Cirimele, Emma Hansen-Smith, and Zana Frownfelter. He then introduced the winners of the Spring Front Yard Contest; all homeowners were present to receive their gift cards from Gazebo Gardens.
Scholarship sponsors this year included: Jeff Bennett, Jim Costa, FHS Alumni Association, Gwen Davey, Sam Mills in honor of Carol Mills. Annalisa Perea, Marie Slater, Esmeralda Soria, an anonymous donor and Larry Salinas.
Scholarship winners were:

- Urai Wheatley (Heinlein Award)
- Asher DeMera (Drama)
- Alysia Gonzalez (Tori Long Art scholarship)
- Emauel Trujillo (Music)
- Ethan Cecilio (Most Improved)
Senior Senators Guadalup Alva Ortiz, Yajaira Castillo, Luz Rojas Hernandez, Jocelin Salcido, Natalie Serna and Ava Stein.
Each student received a $500 check and a certificate from Annalisa Peria, Jim Costa, Joaquin Arambula and Esmeralda Soria.
Each year we are amazed by the accomplishments of the students and the generosity of our sponsors. We hope to continue to celebrate our students and our neighbors for years to come.
